The Odyssey Institute High School continues athletic success on the court and on the field. In the fall of 2021, the girl's volleyball team earned a region championship after coming off of a year without a season. This was an outstanding accomplishment considering losing an entire season to the COVID-19 pandemic. The volleyball team beat Yuma Catholic for the third time and earned a spot in the state playoffs. They went on to play #3 Thatcher High School in the first round of the state playoffs and fell 3-0. We are all proud of their accomplishments this season. They finished the season 10-7 and ranked #14 in 3A led by Coach Lance Adams.
Last night the boy's and girl's soccer teams both earned region championships again. The boy's soccer team became the outright 3A Southwest Region Champion after beating Bourgade Catholic in double OT 5-1. The boy's team finished the regular season 8-2-2 and #9 in 3A led by first-year Head Coach Bryan Green. The boys will play Scottsdale Prep at home in the State Play-In game at 6 pm.
The girl's soccer team tied Yuma Catholic for the 3A Southwest Region Championship after finishing the regular season 9-3-1 and #13 in 3A led by Head Coach Steve Lopez. The girls will play Pusch Ridge at home in the State Play-In game at 4 pm.
We look forward to seeing the soccer teams continue their journey through the playoffs over the coming weeks!
